watched fellini's satyricon last night. turns out that petronius's novel is set in the vicinity of pozzuoli, where i had a memorably boozy lunch with my cousin several years ago. the only photo that i have of that colourful day shows graffiti on the platform of the tiny seaside station (lucrino) from where we got the train back to naples.

these days i seem to be taking an awful lot of photos from my room looking out of the window. actually this is something that i tend to do wherever i am. the above three pics are from naples a few years back.

this one too i like. taken from the room of my 4-star berlin hotel.

generously spacious room in a 2-star hotel in the countryside around malpensa airport milan. it felt like a set from pasolinis movie theorem. i liked it so much i went back again the next year.

bobo b&b in marseilles recommended by the guardian. i used to watch the couple who lived in one of the apartments opposite take it in turns to come out onto the balcony to enjoy a smoke.

江馬氏　　The Ema were a small clan that held power in the mountaineous Hida region during medieval times. This reconstruction of their mansion in Kamioka contains the remains of a fine Zen rock garden. It is located midway between Oshika and the Noto penisula.
